This painting was created as a follow up to “King Kunta” (2016). The inspiration source of this was from Beyonce but also a reference to the fictional character Belle Waller of the Alex Haley film “Roots”". Mrs. Waller played the wife of Kunta Kinte which is the apart of the . The silhouette of this painting was shaped around a reference image of Beyonce but reimagined draped in royal garb.
